Our first skis were half-splitted long jumping skis with handmade bindings made of bull skin. We were kids, crazy in love with snow and winter! We made our own “resort slopes” by trampling fields, it worked until the next snowfall… More than 15 years have passed since that time; skis have significantly evolved, and so have we. Having ski-toured all the accessible places, we moved further to the heart of our land. Our next goal is to share our discoveries with ambitious soulmates from all over the world.
This is how we came to creating the first local helicopter skiing company: with local guides, local pilots and local helicopters. Sounds patriotic? Sure it is.
With all the energy and passion in our blood, we create the best mountain experiences in Svaneti from the scratch. A lot of our clients (we prefer to call them guests) became our good friends and keep returning to visit us and our marvellous land every year, or even twice a year. Join this great club!
SAFETY
Safety is the main priority for everything we do at Svaneti Heliskiing. Our pilots are trained exactly in the area where they later work with our groups. Our guides are certified IFMGA Mountain Guides. Our guides and pilots cooperate not only on heliski-projects, but also are members of the Svanetian rescue team since it was founded here. They have an experience of numerous complicated rescue operations in the mountains. Living and working here through all their lives, they know all the peculiarities of the terrain and take full control of your safety.
- Helicopter operations safety: we use the best in the industry AS350B3 (A-STAR) helicopter and maintain it in accordance with highest international standards, our pilots are constantly trained, mainly in the area of our flights.
- Modern avalanche equipment by Mammut: airbags’ system and Barryvox transceivers.
- Safety training for each participant on arrival.
Being a part of local guide society, these mountains are our backyard. We are familiar with the weather patterns in the area, we have an intimate knowledge of the snowpack and after years of travelling and guiding in these mountains we know where the trouble spots are and when to avoid them. The collective knowledge of our team provides a layer of safety that few other operations can boast.
