Under three hours north of Kutaisi, the road leaves the vineyards of the Rioni valley and climbs into a landscape of wooden villages, mineral springs and empty ridgelines. Racha has been famous in Georgia for centuries — for its wine, its air and its silence — and completely unknown to skiers. It is a region people are protective of: no resorts, no crowds, no development on the high slopes. Which is precisely why the skiing here has waited until now.
- Transfer from the airport or city (Tbilisi, Batumi, Kutaisi)
(Tbilisi - 4:15 hours, Batumi - 4:15 hours, Kutaisi - 2:45 hours). - Check-in and free time (unpacking and having a rest).
- Dinner at the hotel.
- Welcome meeting and briefing with the guide.
- Avalanche training (if everybody feels well after the transfer. Otherwise training is done the next morning).
